Launching "The Ark" in Pontiac (sneak peek!)

Old City Hall Shoppes will be opening a new room called "The Ark" on July 20. There will be an open house from 6-9 that evening to introduce the public to our new room benefiting Heifer International. The room features artwork by local artists, antiques, handmade items and some high quality gently used furniture. The proceeds from this room will go to our goal of buying an ark for Heifer International (a $5000 donation) by the end of January. At this time we are still stocking the room and getting ready, but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek. If you'd like to make a donation toward our goal online you may do so on our donation page. Hopefully I'll figure out how to install a button in the sidebar to make it even easier.

We love the whole idea of how Heifer Int.'s truly "teaching a man to fish." They provide farm animals to families in impoverished areas, including the training in care, breeding, and environmentally friendly practices. These families benefit by improved nutrition, education, increased income, and self reliance. The families then pass on the gift by sharing the offspring and information with other families.
